Here are answers to some of the questions
that I'm frequently asked via email. If you have a question that's
not answered here, please email me.
Can you send me the answers to the exercises
in C Programming: A Modern Approach or Java Programming:
From the Beginning?
Yes, if you're an instructor who is (or will be) using these
books in your classes. Otherwise, no. C Programming: A Modern
Approach and Java Programming: From the Beginning
are primarily used as textbooks; answers are made available only
to instructors, who may then provide them to their students as
needed.
Can you help me with my program?
Sorry, but I can only provide help to my own students at Georgia
State University. If you're taking a class, see your instructor
for assistance. If you're learning by yourself, visit my recommended links area for links
to sites (and newsgroups) where you can get help.
In the preface to C Programming:
A Modern Approach, you mention that you're working on a C++
book. Is it available yet?
I finished writing the C book in late 1995, around the time that
Java was picking up steam. Once I had time to learn Java, I realized
that I would much rather write about it than about C++. The C++
book was put on indefinite hold, and I spent my time writing
a Java book instead. I still teach C++, however, and I still
think there's room for a good C++ book, so I may return to my
C++ manuscript at some future date.
Which C++ books (or Java books, or programming
books, etc.) do you recommend?

books that I recommend.
When will C Programming: A Modern
Approach be revised?
The second edition will be published in March 2008.
When will Java Programming: From
the Beginning be revised?
That will be my next project once I finish the revision of C
Programming: A Modern Approach. |
